ipad application

I used my mother in laws Ipad, she has downloaded several applications already downloaded for the kids to use. I searched through the different apps and found Brain Challenge, its a game that you can set up to your personal settings. It works on your memory skills, math skills, visual skills, and motor skills.
I think this would be helpful in the class room because it uses repetition to help the kids learn math skills and also works on their memory skills. It is a timed challenge,  I think that would be helpful in making the kids faster thinkers.

WebQuest	Strengths	Weaknesses
Grow School Greens	the colors for the page were bright green, it drew your attention to the web quest. There were a lot of helpful links on how to grow plants and when the best times to grow them are. There were several pictures, most of which were moving somehow that makes it interesting to look at, and pictures of vegetables and soil.	two of the links that I tried didn't work. one said the page was not available and the other went to a site about building, nothing about vegetables
Where is My Hero?	The web quest was colorful. It has a lot of great pictures in use for the possible heroes. The links that i checked all worked and took you to the correct pages. There is a rubric scale that the students can look at to evaluate their paper. The downloads were nice because they are always there, no having to hand them out.	the first link took you to a page to look up the definition of a hero, but you had to scroll through a lot of stuff, the kids may get distracted.
Underground Railroad	There are a lot of links all of which I tried worked.	I think that with so many links 4th graders may get confused or they may get distracted. I thought that the pictures could be better. Have to down load how your paper will be graded.
Ice Cream	The page was colorful, so that helps get your attention. All the links worked which is good.	I don’t think this is the best project for 3rd graders. The pictures and other art could have been better. The credits need to fit the page it look messy.
Ancient Egypt	All the links work.	The page is boring white, not very attractive. Not enough pictures. The links even though they worked there were very few of them.

Wikipedia questions

A. Wikipedia is free web based encyclopedia
B. I think that as long as the right type of people are editing it and they are watching for spam and vandalism then it would be pretty reliable.
C. The article says that they put it in the wisdom of crowds. They have a group of people that watch the pages for vandalism and if they find it they repair it quickly.
D.Mr Sager left because he felt that more authority should be given to the experts.
E.It would most likely be someone or some group posting misinforming information about a topic, like if radical group thought that the information on the page wasn't what they wanted it to say and made changes to it that they felt better with.
F.That Wikipedia is among the top visited websites for information and that despite that
G.Because they have a group of volunteers that devote their time to watching the Wikipedia pages to make sure that no one vandalizes them of post spam to them, and also because the volunteers are committed to what they do.
H.If they have advertisements then they might lose some control over what is on there and also some people may think that some advertisements may influence what is written about certain topics.
I. It helps by recognizing changes that are done for the good a group, such as the radical groups i mentioned before. The wikiscanner recognizes that right away so it can be changed.
